The Matsuo Hachimantai Geothermal Power Plant, which supplies electricity to Hachimantai Resort, is a new geothermal power plant that began generating electricity on January 29, 2019. Geothermal power can generate electricity stably regardless of the season or time of day, and the Matsuo Hachimantai Geothermal Power Plant has the capacity to generate enough electricity to power approximately 15,000 average households.
The other power supplier, Appi Geothermal Power Plant, is the newest geothermal power plant in the Tohoku area, having started generating electricity on March 1, 2024. Appi Geothermal Power Plant has a single generating output of 14,900 kW, and is capable of generating enough electricity for approximately 25,800 average households.

●八幡平樹海ライン Jukai Line
見返り峠～蓬莱境間
一部通行可能です。
Partially passable
八幡平樹海ラインの松川ゲート～蓬莱境間は「地すべり」の影響により終日通行止めとなりますが、見返り峠～蓬莱境ゲート間は通行可能になります。
